It’s a cover story

The brief for the motorsport catalogue cover can be quite demanding. The Demon Tweeks Motorsport parts catalogue has for many years been considered an industry bible. There are always certain factors that need consideration such as brand highlights, focus on motorsport disciplines or the MD’s ego that need to be carefully thought about! A consistent stipulation is that the Motorsport catalogue should always be red in appearance.

After a number of years, it can be very difficult to generate new fresh ideas given the limitations of no budget and a large number of stipulations placed upon the brief every year. But everyone loves a challenge – well, I do!

As a team of designers at Demon Tweeks we usually generate our own ideas individually and then bring them all together to discuss possible directions in moving forward and ultimately, which ideas to work up and present.

The timeframes for cover artworks can be extreme, with only a few days in a tight schedule to complete the entire process

I have had a few opportunities to strengthen my photographic and photo editing skills through front cover projects and love it when I can bring all my skills new and old together in a single piece.
